A premier ranch in the Central Texas Hill Country featuring:
Quarter Horse Breeding and Sales ~ Roping Steer Sales & Leasing ~ Exotic Game Hunting Packages

The Simmons Ranch was established in 1994, when the original 1,700 acres was acquired by John and Judy Simmons with idea of raising quarter horses, cattle, and whitetail deer.

We are dedicated to raising performance quarter horses with notable bloodlines such as King, Joe Hancock, Zan Parr Bar, Two Eyed Jack, and Poco Bueno. We are standing four stallions. Two are Buckskin and two sorrel. Two have earned "Superior Status" in team roping.

We also have a herd of Mexican Corriente Cattle of pure bred roping potential.

Additional acreage was acquired in 1995, and the entire ranch was "high fenced" so we could manage our deer population. No hunting was allowed until 2001, except for culling does and inferior bucks. 2001 was our first "Trophy" deer hunt. A non-typical 11 point buck scoring 170, a 15 point scoring 154, and a 10 point scoring 150 were taken in the 2001season.

All the deer are pure native hill country deer. No outside deer have been introduced, although game now also  includes:  turkey, hogs, and elk.   All hunts are fully guided and hunting packages will soon be available.

Our guest improvements include a 4 bedroom lodge, a three bedroom house, and a two bedroom house. There is an arena, horse barn, swimming pool and lakes full of bass.
